Two PhD students from The Aquatic Ecosystem Sub-center attend the International Summer School in German
The second International summer school titled' Field methods and eco-hydrological models for integrated water management in rural areas', funded By the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), and was held on September 15th-30th, 2009 in Ecology Center of University of Kiel, Germany.

Ph.D students YaoYang Xu and Lan Wang from The Aquatic Ecosystem Sub-center of CREN attended the school and exchanged of view on the hydrology mechanism and hydrodynamic modeling on eutrophication of the Three Gorges Reservoir with attendees.

The school focused on the watershed modeling and water quality management. Water quality in Europe was introduced, soil erosion and water quality and Biological aspects of water quality were explained.Advanced statistical analysis of water quality data with Excel and R, Hydrologic modeling with PcRaster and SWAT were elaborated. The Aquatic Ecosystem Sub-center 's research about Hydrologic modeling on xiangxi River was a main case in this school.

Five Instructors were from Germany, China, and Brazil. 22 participants from China, Russia, India, the United States, Finland, Serbia, Ethiopia, and Argentina attended the school.
