Research Achievements
The Research Center for Auqatic Ecosystem have won the second level of National Award for Advanced in Science and Technology(NAAST) and the second level of CAS Award for Advanced in Science and Technology since 1996. We have attended to script a monograph and script a monograph separately and organize the lake stations finished the book-Survey, Observation and Analysis of Lake Ecology, which was published in 2000 in the periods. Also, in our organization, the manuscript of the book-Survey, Observation and Analysis of Lake Ecology, have finished already. A statistic shows that we have publish 105 papers, including 11 SCI, 2 EI and 72 CSCD.
With the guidance of famous ecologist-Liu jiankang, our research center carried out a new region of ecology research-Watershed Ecology firstly in the world. We are promoting research into developing the theory and method of the new subject in recent years. We have an international cooperation with Giessen University(Germany) to research the ecosystem of Three Gorges Reservior and Xiangxi River watershed. We are collecting the field monitoring datum monthly to calibrate our watershed management model based on GIS. We have invited many famous international experts in this field to give advice to the observation index system of our center, which would make advantages to our observation works in the future.
Furthermore?our center have made a homepage(Digital Waters: http://digital.ihb.ac.cn) together with the Inland Water Biological Division of Biodiversity Information Center of China(BRIM). This website provides many database services, such as database service of aquatic biology of inland waters, database service of basic characters of inland waters, image database service of aquatic biology shapes and so on.
In recent?We have focused our attentions on comparing research of the ecology characters of lake groups in the down-middle of Yangtze River. According to the funds we awarded, we are carrying out fields survey in details. Now, we have accomplished the digital maps of research areas and the related datum databases. We are ready to publish a research system about our research system based on the GIS in our website to provides betters information services.
